Hi, My name is Jennifer
Bishop.
I'd like to
tell you a little about myself, and how I've gotten to this
point in my career. I was born in the small town of Potts
Camp, Mississippi. That’s right. POTTS CAMP, MISSISSIPPI.
Like most little girls, I grew up with big hopes and dreams.
In my teen years, I entered all the beauty pageants around
and actually won a few. Being at the center of the winner’s
circle was a feeling I will never forget. The memories
stayed with me all through my years of high school. Life was
slow and easy in Potts Camp, even at graduation time. Of
course, with only 20 classmates you can't exactly muster
lots of excitement.
The opportunity to
experience life outside a small town came in August of 1996.
I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and made the decision
to move to Jupiter, Florida. It meant leaving all my friends
and especially my family. But it was time for "daddy's
little girl" to grow up! |

Lucky me!
Although, I didn't know just how lucky at the time. I
applied and got the job. I have been the office manager
there since 2000. Before working at Jupiter Fitness I had
never worked out at all. I even made fun of the members who
got out of bed early to go to the gym. Meals for me were
ravioli out of a can or a Butterfinger candy bar washed down
with a coke - not diet.
But slowly I began to see
this gym stuff in a new light. I became first a power cycle
instructor then an aerobics instructor. Since becoming good
friends with Heather McCormick she then introduced me to the
world of Fitness and Figure Competition. I began to train
with a goal in mind. I entered my first show in November of
2003, the Gold Cup Classic placing 3rd a few points away
from 2nd.
I have an exciting
career ahead of me and a wonderful daughter growing up to
see opportunity everywhere for the taking. What more could a
small town southern girl ask for? |
